Doesn't matter anyways, the only film I turned my brain on was for stalker and I just didn't get it, I guess it's because the visuals aren't impressive, I thought Lawrence of Arabia was better.
I bet these two films are probably pleb or entry level for you guys, but my point is that film is probably right before comics, anime and video games in terms of media or "art".
I puked when I watched Begotten and it was considered a classic of some sorts, fuck the film media.

Glad to know you're a critic drone. It's gotta be awesome being unable to form opinions of your own through human experience.

Also, what the fuck, man? Lawrence of Arabia is as based as they come. Watch movies and like what you like. I know you probably main /mu/ and are one of those people that just wants to like what everyone else likes so you'll feel like you belong to some kind of club, but you should really explore your own interests.

Entertainment mediums appeal to your senses, visual, auditory, etc, just like literature appeals to your intellect and broadens your imagination. Find what you like by actually exploring a medium instead of shitting on it offhand by the merit of some kind of arbitrary preconception.

As far as literature is concerned, it depends all on presentation and THEN it can depend on content.
In music it's all about what forms itself in the artists soul and how well he can express it (if that's his intention).

When it comes to film it's all about trying to make shots, making up for the lack of software (or doing so to avoid using software) and maybe trying to imagine a scene or getting long shots.
Films are literally video game tier, where only skills matter, content is merely a byproduct of creating a "watchable" film. Evil Dead is a good example of this I think, I'm not experienced in films as you know but Evil Dead sure did some work in its production so it turned out to be something great. But it's still like vidya, all limited to how well one can take shots or produce effects.
