>tfw you hear a song you know being sampled
>tfw you hear the song that sampled the first song sampled in the original artists next song
I had the opposite of this happen to me.I was listening the this Y2K hits/underground dance station (yeah I know), and Castles In The Sky started playing and it was vaguely recognizable to me for some reason, when I realized I recognized it from the song in Chuck Person's Eccojams that uses it. Was pretty surreal.
>Up the Beach playing at the start of Exmilitary
>Can sample in Earl Sweatshirt song
>hear song using obvious sample>next song you hear uses same sample
>tfw disappointed after finding out it was a sample
>>55658746>tfw the sample is so good you didn't even think it was a sample and you listen to the song sampled religiously.
> finding out a track I like a lot is very heavily based on a sample when I thought it was the artist's own work> "at least I can check out the original track now"> don't like the original track quite as much> both tracks sound disappointing now>>55658746Got an example of this?
>original song is better than the remixed versionhttp://youtu.be/jsXBwmw0lTw
>tfw your favorite artist interpolates recorded talks and interviews of your favorite author
>>55658759wtf, just end yourself

Now whenever I listen to house or hip hop, I assume that everything might come from a sample... I'm even into disco edits lately.I still think it's dishonest when artists hide the fact that their tracks are heavily sample-based though.
>>55658732I had this feel when I heard Henri Chopin's Audiopoems being sampled in Karlheinz Stockhausen's HymnenI don't listen to a lot of modern pop music though so I usually don't listen to a lot of stuff that uses obvious samples
>Avalanche rock get
Like how King Crimson sampled Power? Pretty good tbh.
>>55659686Yeah, I don't like Kanye much but I have to recognize that use is pretty great.
It's mostly vaporwave. Feels good.

>>55659508The first Doom stuff features 8 bit renditions of 80's thrash metal which is awesome hearing megadeth, slayer, and pantera in a game without it being acutal metal

when samples go to far, fuck you dj shadow.https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TYGaJr7G3Dc
>>55658732>tfw every single song that is recorded samples itself whenever it plays, therefore you're listening to a sample waiting to be sampled by other samples composed of samples that haves sampled other samples
>>55665250Nice, proto-vaporwave.
don't know if i'm the only one here in the still-a-survivor-fan master race here but this blew my mindtheme: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wyb2HYSne3Eoriginal: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=T7a7qb8-wWc

Sampling is poser-core. Don't even bother listening to songs using samples.
>artist is so arrogant he takes a sample from his own song from an album he released only 3 years ago as a 'throwback'
