How does /mu/ feel about this album?
One of my favorites and the one I always go to when I want to piss off the neighbors.
I didn't hear voicesIt was a conscious decision on my partIt was more of a power thing
Fucking love it. I thought all "industrial" "metal" was going to be awful like Nine Inch Nails but Streetcleaner was fucking fantastic.
Brilliant album, I love how perfectly it blends its influences, on nearly every track you can hear bits of Swans or Killing Joke or Big Black and yet it doesn't sound entirely like any of them
love itthis was my favorite album around 2011and is still one of my all time favoritesnothing quite like it. the guts.
good but i wish people would talk about their other albums too. Enjoy Pure, Selfless, and Hymns just as much.
It's pretty cool, but I think I like some of Godflesh's other albums more.
This monster has slowly grown on me over the years. When I was younger and first listened, it wasn't for me.Just about everything Godflesh released is in my rotation now, a lot of them I've been listening to quite a bit
rich man's ministry
>>55604711so is ministry worth checking out?
>>55604726Land of Rape and Honey is a great album.
>>55603437>/metal/ stopped talking about A World Lit Only By Fire like the dumbshits they areSo goodRIFFS
>>55603437Actually, Pure is probably my favorite Godflesh album.
>>55604784thanks, paying the archive a visit nowI know Nine Inch Nails was getting hate, but any recs for someone who also digs all of Reznor's work, particularly from Pretty Hate Machine through to The Fragile and also Ghosts I-IV and the OST's (fucking love the score for The Social Network)
I remember when it came out, a really powerful record. I kind of wish that I'd gone and saw them play with Ministry recently, but then again fuck them they should have toured 25 years ago when I connected with this music. I saw Ministry back then and that really rocked my world, so I didn't want to taint that memory.>>55604853Checked out Bowie's Earthling album?
>>55604853>all of Reznor's workAntichrist Superstar then. He plays in some tracks and produced the album. It's a bit similar to TDS.
>>55602636edgy garbage
>>55605341I saw them open for Skinny Puppy supporting Streetcleaner, they played great and my friend and I were totally into it, but literally no one else was. Like there were maybe 10 people standing in front of the stage, everyone else remained seated. And good choice not seeing Ministry I'm sure. They've done nothing but embarass themselves for 20 years now, wish they'd just stop.
>>55605477>anything that isn't super positive Sweet Trip bullshit is edgy garbage
>>55605510>replying to baitI thought we were smarter than this.
>>55605480Weird. I saw them open for SP in Denver. A lot of people were there to see Godflesh. Rough on the floor. SP were kinda' off. Ogre was sick I think. All in all: Great night. However that was a long time a go. Thought I was the only oldfag around here.
Wonderful album. Broadrick is a master of the simple-yet-brilliant riff.
>>55605480Yeah they were pretty "edgy ;)" at the time, I had the Godflesh tape in my car and people thought my deck was fucking up.Still I refuse to see any act who hasn't been relevant for over ten years, unless they are bona-fide gods like Ace Frehley.
>>55605590Plenty of oldfaggotry around here. Who do you think discusses music in between all the meme-rap threads.
>>55605635Sho' nuff.
>>55605613So you rather see a lame hard rock guitarist than Ministry?topkek
>>55605696Nobody who has seen Ace would say that. GET HIM!
>>55605705I just detest hard rock with all my forces.nothing personnel kid ;)
>>55605613I remember my punk friends finding Streetcleaner too metal, and metal kids hating the fact that it used a drum machine >>55605590Must of been the same tour, it was Seattle where I saw it.>>55605696>>55605705I don't think either KISS or Ministry should be encouraged in any way at this point
>>55605995Ace shows are much better than Kiss. You'd never know by listening to the records but Ace live is something special. The guy really has some amazing stage presence and sets fire to the crowd, you can't help but be swept away by it.
>>55605372already on that shit!
JK is the fucking man.id drop everything to see any jk joint live
>>55605480Al's said that Ministry's done after they finish up this last tour, Scaccia's death probably killed whatever motivation he would have for keeping the band going. It's for the best anyways, always forget that he's a father.
