Are any of Spiritualized other albums worth a listen?
i'd be hard pressed to say any of them are particularly bad... it's just that none of them reach the size and scope of ladies and gentlemen in terms of songwriting or arrangement. like, their other stuff is undoubtedly enjoyable, but you have to want to listen to gospel-inspired orchestral rock. ladies and gentlemen sort of exists in the realm of "essential albums" where you don't necessarily have to be invested in the genre to appreciate

furthermore, as a fairweather spiritualized fan, i've honestly found spacemen 3 (jason pierce's older project) a lot more enjoyable than other spiritualized releases. give "perfect prescription" a try, it's pretty different from ladies and gentlemen, but it's righteously good nonetheless

I think Lazer Guided Melodies and Pure Phase are on a par with Ladies and Gentlemen.
