My semi-new ipod classic's clickwheel stopped working and I got a replacement just before they stopped making them, I feel lucky.

Is there really no demand for music players with obscene amounts of storage? Why is the iPod classic the only one with 160gb?

I have 8 gb nano i got as a gift like 5 or 6 years ago. The screen is cracked but other than that it still works fine. Only problem is the storage. I have to remove albums from my ipod to add new ones since it's only 8 gb.

After perhaps a decade the headphone input on mine went bad so I took it to the apple store and they said it was beyond fixing or some shit so they offered me a discount replacement instead £40-60? Waste of a good hard drive wish they'd let me keep it.

yeah I think that its main audience, but I figure that I'd still benefit from the big storage capacity/better build quality anyway. it took me five years to fill the 160gb classic, so 500gb or whatever it is would pretty much do me forever (assuming the build is high end since it's for audiophiles). I don't know anyone who has one though

I have like four ipod classics laying around. A 60gb, two 80gbs and one 160gb. The 160gb has a fucked up headphone jack though, so I'm using one of the 82gb ones right now.
That 160gb was my first, have it for 6-7 years now and it's still going strong except for the jack obviously, but replacing it is like 50 bucks. I'm getting tired of having to remove shit from the 80gb to put new music on it, so i might have it repaired soon... I read about doing it yourself but I'm afraid i'll fuck it up

Try repartitioning the hard drive. When I first got mine I could only sync about 15 gb before it would freeze and delete everything. Turns out there were about 20 gigs of bad blocks so I split the hard drive and put those 20 gigs in the back. It knocked off some of the memory obviously but it works fine now.
