Let's discuss some albums that don't get enough attention.
>>55527219Mhm yes this is a good one. Nice and mathy with relatable lyrics. Some of the songs are real catchy too (What do you want me to say, you are invited)
gyroscope is the catchiest
/mu/ gives that attention but the really ought to listen to this before Emergency and I. It's my favorite album ever.
The D-Plan had the best rhythm section in indie rock hands down, plus arguably the best lyricist.Fuck I love them.
>>55527219The D Plan in general don't get talked about enough. Like holy shit, E&I, The D Plan is Terrified, !, and Change are all fantastic albums
>>55527351I saw them live and it was like standing in the eye of a tornado, their rhythm section is so god damn strong.Even their new songs have serious grooves.
>>55527319If The Ice of Boston was on E&I it would be a legendary indie rock tune instead of merely a cult favourite.
One of the best albums of the 90s, it needs more love.Really the best example of "alternative" I can think of. Fishbone manages to juggle punk, ska, hip hop, funk, and even metal, all simultaneously while still somehow sounding both incredibly tight and wildly playful.
>>55527219I love everything about this album. as stated, rhythm section is GOAT, lyrics are fucking amazing, and songs are interesting and not just 4/4 3 chord business. plus the synth throughout the record is quite chilling
>>55527542Fishbone holds a special place in my heart. I remember when I heard "When Problems Arise" I went nuts going "Holy shit, that's an actually bass!?"
>>55527575Norwood Fisher can really tear it up!They're just so eclectic, and colorful...but with amazing chops to back it up.The Reality of My Surroundings is probably the best candidate for "Sgt. Peppers of the 90s," to me, with the possible exception of the Flaming Lips' Soft Bulletin.
>>55527219You Are Invited>Back and Forth>The City>8 1/2 Minutes>Memory Machine>A Life of Possibilities>Gyroscope>What do You Want Me To Say?>Spider in the Snow>The Jitters>I Love a Magician>Girl O' ClockThat being said, my favorite album. Every song is a 10/10. Love it to death.
Best Antlers album.
>>55528067Pic related is very slightly better imoFucking killer band thoughMatt Talbott produced Cloakroom's LP this year, had super high hopes for it after their awesome debut EP but didn't live up to it unfortunately. Still a few good tunes on it
>>55528116How many times I have to tell you guys it's this.
>>55528067good alt rock. Need to listen to Downward is Heavenward again some time soon it has been roughly a year
>>55528164You mean this?
This, in my opinion
>>55528555oh fuck, I love this album. Troubleman is one of my favorite songs of all time.
Truly underrated Hip-Hop gem
>>55527478>tfw could've seen them live New Years in Boston cause I'm a masshole.>Didn't, cause no one wanted to go.
This EP is always over shadowed by the self titled Giles Corey album.
