Only 20 days until the release of Simple Songs! Are you hyped?
>Is Bad Timing to Eureka to Insignificance the strongest 3 album streak of the past 20 years?
>Favorite non-Drag City Jim tunes?
>Why haven't you listened to The Visitor yet?
>What's your favorite project that Jim has helped produce?
>When will a leak occur, if ever?

His most well known albums are those he released on Drag City: Bad Timing, Eureka, Insignificance, and The Visitor.
Bad Timing is excellent long-form acoustic folk tunes. All instrumental, kind of in the style of John Fahey and Roy Harper.
Eureka, aka Fellatio Bunny, is probably his most well known album. Real good Sunday morning tunes, beautifully composed. One of my favorite albums to smoke to, probably the most similar sonically to HTAT.
Insignificance is a more indie rock focused version of Eureka. Still some prime compositional work here though, but just a hair weaker than the previous two releases.
The Visitor is a 38 minute track that seamlessly flows between different movements (Jim claims over 200 separate recorded parts were used). Like Bad Timing, it is purely instrumental, but The Visitor feel much more relaxed, like riding a lazy river and drifting alongside all Jim has to offer. |
