It's just our perception of any piece of music is dependent on our own balance of the sensorium -- so I guess I accuse thee detractors of that very thing, or at least their sensorium shuts off when they hear 1! 1! 1! 1! or whatever (based of pre-conceptions of AnCo / mu hive mind whatever it is.) That's totally cool, I think though that what redeems it is just (in my opinion) the band is seasoned enough with song-writer that underneath the noise of it (the centipede hz of it) the melodies are infectious in and of themselves... They're so utterly crazy but mellifluous and pleasing (maybe Avey's tracks the most) that they hook you, if you fall for it, into this loop of hearing it all the details begin to resonate and the real album comes to fruition.
