Sound's like the instrumentals used in Sponge Bob, it's full of classic TV music.
Ocean Man played at the end of the Spongebob movie
Makes sense. Ocean man played at the end of the movie, which put a fuckton of people onto Ween. Like, lots of people I know that otherwise would've never heard of them love that song. And I think it was a deliberate nod. The kind of ridiculous oceanic theme is completely consistent between this and spongebob. I can imagine the writers just listening to this and getting inspired to write more and more about a talking dish sponge that lives in a pineapple at the bottom of the ocean.
