I see. I hardly care about their industrial beginnings tbh, things got most interesting when they started really messing around with electronic drones and synths. Thighpaulsandra and COH i think are to thank for this influence.

Remote viewer has this type of tribal drumwork very similar to Soisong, some brilliantly fleshed out electronic drones, pipes and minimalistic hurdy gurdy melodies (i can't really pick the instruments apart, sorry), but very accessible and harsh with clear and definable sound.

The absolute best Coil has had to offer, imo. And it's a treat on high volume; i've probably done lots of damage to my ears with that album by this point. If anyone got anything similar to recommend i'd love to hear btw.

When discussing and analyzing Genesis's works on COUM Transmissions, Throbbing Gristle and Psychic TV its important to keep in mind that the guy is all about perpetual change.

In fact he's so much about change that its pretty much pointless to look for any connections between his various projects, as the ideology behind them is completely different and they contradict each other most of the time (for example TG was all about being anti-rock music, leaving music with such outdated negro roots behind, and embracing the current context, hence why its called "industrial" music, because its a new concept that is disconnected from anything prior to the industrial revolution and later on he went to disregard all that with PTV where he plays more or less rock music and covers rock bands like The Rolling Stones and Pink Floyd).

With that in mind its also pointless to view Genesis himself as one perpetual character throughout his whole life, there's nothing in common between 70's Genesis and current Genesis

well yeah i can understand that their audiences aren't exactly the same but i seriously don't understand how they, as individuals, are better than any pop star today.

If i remember correctly all their performance art, and literal Pornography, was to fund their music projects. idk i would severely question their artistic intentions and authenticity because of that. I'm not even the biggest fan but i am baffled at how well received all that shit is by most fans and media.
