/mu/'s opinion on Jefferson Airplane?
i've only ever listened to bathing at baxters, should i try surrealistic pillow? the cover art looks compelling
They went through a couple of phases:>Jefferson Airplane Takes OffAt this early point, they were still just a Peter, Paul, and Mary clone, so these songs are comparatively soft folk tunes and ballads,>Surrealistic Pillow>After Bathing At Baxter'sHardcore psychedelia. These albums also produced their only radio hits.>Crown Of CreationSlightly darker, less commercial album primarily dealing with the turbulent events of 1968>VolunteersThe psychedelic stuff is dropped here and they adopt a more hard rock/folk sound.>later albumsIrrelevant.
Somebody To Love is always a great song, but most (like 90%) of their catalog has aged like dirt.
They're pretty great when Grace's the main singer, that other twat is unbearable singing
