I'm starting myself too. I bought an akai mpk mini mk2 last week and downloaded FL Studio, which is apparently one of the easiest softwares to learn. Haven't had the time to properly try it though.

Get a DAW

FL and GarageBand are intro-tier, but I've heard good stuff made with either of them.

But if you can, get Logic, or Pro Tools, or Cubase, or something, though FL is fine. I use Ableton.
