It took the mess that was SMiLE and made the best from it. Very relaxed and stripped down. Little Pad, Gettin Hungry, Wonderful all great classics.

just got back from the record store and picked up the unreleased album Adult Child. What a trip this is. Brian Wilson + big band. Not sure how I feel about any of it yet.

Honestly I like it just as much as Smile, although it does lose a lot of points for how disparate and non-cohesive it seems (Good Vibes and Heroes/Villains don't fit at all). And I still don't like She's Going Bald, because it just sounds like a Beatles song

Every time I think about listening to this album, that shit scares me off every time. It didn't even bother me at first, but it just become incredibly terrifying the more I listened to it. The intimacy and the bare sound of that version of Wind Chimes suddenly being interrupted by that shit makes me so upset. It's another one of those weird and bold things that makes the album so unique and exciting to listen to but I just hate it so much.

This album is an easy 9/10 though, no inflation.
