Dark Ambient by a long shot, unless its the droning type. Seems like most traditional ambient gets stuck in the mellow new age type vibe.

There isnt much to get into really. Some bangers are halfway decent, most of them follow the same vengeancekick+nexuslead+prydasnare recipe religiously.

a composer is someone who has been trained to write in the classical style. They usually hold masters degrees in composition, regularly attend workshops and masterclasses to extend their skill, and pretty much spend their lives trying to make the best music they can.

pretty simple definition. sure anyone who throws some notes into a DAW is technically a "composer" but the reality is composers are extremely dedicated and serious about art music, they know their shit and [mostly] dont fuck around with partying or drugs.

Standard bands and producers have nothing on the level of craft that composers nurture over a lifetime.
