>>55205199Nice
>>55204485>>55204485Hurrah, we have a bunch of artists who do pretty much the bare minimum of what you need to be an actual band. Rejoice.
>>55204485>>55204495>>55204511>All those assertionsIt's funny how it's often the most superficially or passively interested in music who think that they're able to make objective statements about quality.
>>55205199chill out brobut you're right though
>>55204495>Don't you worry child>breathtaking
>>55204511>pop, rap, EDM, country, indie rock, acoustic guitar ballads, piano ballads this is what normies think diverse range of music is
>>55204485>>55204495>>55204511the only good thing I read in this whole thing was that kendrick is good. everything else here just gave me the shitslike this is a response to 'le born in the wrong generation' shithead from the perspective of a total pleb. obviously there is a lot of great music being made today but neither of these people have found it yet
>>55205839>the only good thing I read in this whole thing was that kendrick is good. everything else here just gave me the shits>pitchfork dronesReminder that Sufjan Stevens is essentially a more edgy Ed Sheeran

>>55206936he says that top 100 songs today are as good as it was for the past generations and people are just complaining now because of examples like nikki minaj or whatever other bullshit is on all the time.he says that avicii and macklemore are basically like pink floyd ans outkast if not better.
>>55206976probably a troll but it makes me uneasy to know so many people around the world actually think like that.
>>55207016I looked up the comment and it seems as if though it's used as "wise words" from the current generation. It's 100% serious and is copy-pasted over Reddit
>>55207016>>55206976Ugh, I actually agree with him to a certain extent, not in that I think that any of the artists he mentioned are good, but in that mainstream music has always and will always be predominantly, almost exclusively thematically inoffensive, boring, and needlessly accessible as a result as artistic compromise.
>>55207398I do think that the top 40 had a bit more interesting and unique music going for it in say the 70's
>>55204485>>55204495>>55204511Is this ironic?
>>55207607>I do think that the top 40 had a bit more interesting and unique music going for it in say the 70'sEh, perhaps in the age when there was less music created overall, and when making an album was expensive and elaborate enough that you sort of needed a record label's backing -- before the music industry had really entirely puzzled itself out, and it was still exploring and experimenting -- there may have been some creativeness and experimentation in the mainstream, but I think that pretty much all of the music in the mainstream (Even the critically acclaimed and entered into the rock music canon stuff) gets there by being inoffensive and thematically compromised enough that the average person doesn't mind it. Not saying there aren't (very) occasional gems, but those albums are popular in spite of their quality rather than because of it.>inb4 someone replies to me with a meme.

There's a couple of good bands on the radio. Hozier, Sia and Vance Joy are fantastic. Everything else is not worth listening to, except for some examples of writers lucking out with catchy tunes like Uptown Funk that were trash from a musical perspective.Meghan Trainor, Iggy Azalea, Jessie J and virtually every other female artist on the radio need to be fucking publicly mutilated, their music isn't even acceptable as "catchy". https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AJtDXIazrMoJust remember this song made more money on the first day of it's release than every single band currently being talked about on /mu/ put together.
>>55209510there is absolutely nothing about iggy azalea that isn't horrendous. her image, her talent, her entire career... she isn't even ironically good in any way whatsoever. Even reading her name fills me with an unreasonable rage that worries me. I fucking hate her. I hate her so much. I know people who went to school with her (byron bay) and she is just a complete fraud piece of shit. this ... rage ... please help me
>no autotuneLel, literally every single popular musician uses it.
>>55209639Yes anon, let the rage fill you
