Dead as Dreams seems to be fucking adored by the community but I'm not sure about any of there other works.

Weakling started the whole cascadian black metal thing and did it best with Dead As Dreams, and you'll get a lot of people who'll hate it just because it's USBM

I think it's strange to like a style of music yet actively the music it is descended from, it only really shows your refusal to see the connection of your music to a broader genre as a whole.

I personally feel this modern interpretation black metal is too passive for my tastes. I personally prefer the more traditional sounding black metal. The thing about having a variety of interpretations of black metal is that you can't really prohibit one sort of music being played because musical "trends" favoring another style. These transcendental black metal artists can't prohibit other styles of being played, they can just show other perspectives in black metal.

I only listen to Burzum and maybe the occasional other 1st wave BM or early Norweigan BM scene album for nostalgia's sake.

Other than that I hate metal.
