Rain or wind sounds from my phone, except that my fiancee usually wakes me up in the middle of the night to shut it off and just puts on the fan instead, which is like, entry-level white noise.

It doesn't really matter exactly how you act around people. What people don't like is inconsistency. The average person cannot see in three dimensions when it comes to personality, so if your behavior is inconsistent, they don't know what to think.

When I'm at work, I make incredibly inappropriate remarks all the time no matter who's around. Customers, female employees, anyone. But all my coworkers, even the starry-eyed younger women like me because I don't compromise. I look like a ragamuffin, doing the bare minimum to look like a human being, but because I go all in with it and keep a human, self-aware element to everything I say, it works.

I either fall asleep to Bon Iver, James Blake, Sufjan Stevens, Keaton Henson, or Swans.

that iphone app that eno put out years back called "bloom." set the sleep timer, randomize it, tap a few of my own notes and let it go from there.

i'd like some sleep hypnosis shit. some of that spoken word stuff that helps with things like self-confidence/esteem, eases stress, etc. but i haven't looked into it enough. i should do that now. if anyone has any recs, that'd be rad. but this is /mu/, so i'm not expecting help.
