I'm going to buy my first electic guitar tomorrow, I've been playing acoustic for over a year now.

I'm going to be buying a Mexican standard telecaster, because I love the way they sound and look. and to me, they've felt amazing whenever I've tried them in guitar stores.

I don't play any particular style of music, mainly country, rock, blues, etc. Nothing hardcore and metal.

I have a budget of £250/$350 and need help choosing an amp. I'm going to be trying a few out in the store I'll be buying my guitar from tomorrow, esentially I want to know what kind of amps (brands/models) I want to be trying out and which ones to avoid

If you're going to get a solid state orange amp, get the 35RT

It sounds way better than the 35LDX. Avoid the LDX series. The RT series sound great for what they are.

I had a tele and used a crate gx212, twin amps are great

Well I play a Tele through a 120w Solid state Orange and it sounds killer. Before you get a MiM tele look on ebay. US Teles are cheap second hand. I got an American Standard 2006 for about £400. Its worth a look.

You can find a roland jc 120 (or 55, or whatever) on craigslist for pretty cheap and they are the only solid state amp worth getting imo. I got a head and cab for 250 from a pawn shop and it's the coolest amp I've ever owned. Clean as heck and the chorus sounds magical. the distortion on it sounds kinda lame but I have a bunch of pedals for that, which the amp takes EXTREMELY well

I bought a 20LDX off craigslist for $100
I only had a bass amp previously, and needed something to play a guitar on.
I only intend to use it for playing in my bedroom obviously, but why avoid the LDX series? Just honestly curious if I made a mistake.

It's not bad, the RT series just has better preamps and sounds more like a real orange amp. The LDX is digital, the RT is analog.

It's definitely a solid bedroom amp I had one before my 35rt

I own a 35LDX, I've got nothing but good things to say about it. On the other hand, I've only ever played small gigs in my band with it, if you to develop a following at all, you'd probably need a bigger amp.
