I'm just experimenting.
Is it me or Reason sounds like shit.

>Between Reason, Reaktor, Pro Tools

What? They aren't even remotely alike.
Ableton Live has a great sound, though.

>> No.54828918

Holy shit i can't stand Reason so fuck that.

Whats the difference between Reaktor and Pro tools. Which one of them is worth learning

none my friend we /Ableton/ here

>> No.54830858

I use protools to recird vocals and ableton to make tracks. Reason has some instruments that are good to rewire and the scream is the shit, but on its own its a joke.

reason is fine, its just a bit old school.

also reaktor isnt even a DAW (it is awesome though)

Scream is absolutely the shit. And really, no matter what you're using, you can get a lot out of using multiple programs/instruments if you're able to. Any DAW is alright if you get used to it and sometimes it's good to get uncomfortable with something else. But yeah, SCREAM

literally who? who? and who?

seriously though, most of the good guys on that list use other software, and have probably just allowed ableton to list their name.

nine inch nails were recording with pro tools and other software long before ableton existed. same with most of the other acts there like DJ Sasha and Pete Townsend.

The only people I know who use ableton are hippy douchebags who dj to try and get laid and have 0 idea about good music

>> No.54830948

Protools is overrated.

I use Ableton for live stuff and I use Presonus Studio One for recording

for you.

professionals use Pro Tools, Logic and Cubase.

Presonus Studio One bitch.

i actually use nuendo most of the time. sure abelton isnt used in a traditional studio but its pretty damn common outside of that. lots of producers use it. you are right that its the most common with kids but that doesn't make it uncommon with pros

Tyler the creator, the prodigy, dj mustard, and dj toomp all use reason. Maybe it's the producer, not the DAW.

>> No.54831006

>>54830988
reason is really pretty good and the inter connectivity between synths is really nice. it just is old school and has some limitations which may or may not hinder you depending on what you do

>> No.54831090

I am using Reaper primarily, but now I've decided to learn Ableton for the sake of a different approach to composing through improvisations.

I've also used Logic, which is complete garbage, and Pro Tools, which seems neat for mixing and mastering purposes, but only that.
Then there's Reason, I'm not sure about Reason 7 or 8, cause I've only used 5 and 6 - they've had great instruments, but a god-awful sequencer.

surprised they don't have Erez Eisen on there too

it doesnt matter what you use just pick one of the studio level DAWs Cubase, Logic or Protools etc... and once you start to get to grips with one of these then screw around with Ableton FL studio Reason bitwig etc and try to notice the differences in how they operate and how they sound and choose whichever feels better for you .... also learn synthesis in a more general form and start at the start(like subtractive synthesis) and slowly build your understanding of whats involved in creating and sculpting sound(oscillators, filters envelopes) .. if you do this then in the end it wont really matter what you end up using as you'll be using whatever it is that youve discovered best suits your way of working rather than using something somebody told you to use because its apparently better than anything else because they use it :)
