i got a very nooby question.
what if the rms for an amplifier is a lot bigger than the needed rms for the speaker? does it matter?

The amp's power is directly related to the volume level. At normal listening volumes, you'll have trouble breaking 5 watts of power unless you have very inefficient speakers and need to crank it.

Basically, the RMS of the amp is the tested top output power for a sustained period, i.e. they play a 1khz tone at full volume and measure the output. You will not be pushing out full volume 100% of the time, so as long as the amp isn't turned up too loud, your speakers will be fine.
