Give all of Get Scraped a quick listen. It's his most varied and dynamic album, he was doing a lot of things because he hadn't found his gimmick yet. It's a bit disjointed but it shows that he's actually a fairly talented producer.

Random Album Title is basically the essential Joel sound, it's very overplayed at this point but it's really not BAD, he just had a way at the time of making fifty songs that all sounded the same.

Album Title Goes Here is about where he started to actually fuck around again and experiment a bit, it's also worth a listen and it's probably his most cohesive album start to finish.

I don't really consider myself a huge Deadmau5 fan, but he's one of those that's overrated by his fans and over-criticized by his opponents.

Like I said, I had heard two songs of his and made a judgment based off that. He is very popular so I assume there's something to his music I may not have seen. (It's like trying to into Bowie but only youtubing Laughing Gnome and giving up.)
