Does /mu/ like him? I really like Born to Run but haven't listened to his other albums very much. What album should I listen to next? Thunder Road is my favourite track on the album.

Bruce's 1973-88 work is the greatest 15-year run a rock star's ever had. You literally can't go wrong with anything he made in that time.

Also, just because it hasn't been mentioned by name yet, Live/1975-85 is my absolute favorite live album ever.

I feel like Springsteen stands at a unique crossroads where you can hear the influences of the artists he admires (Elvis, the Beatles, Roy Orbison, Dylan, the Animals, the Stones, Phil Spector, the Clash, Suicide, etc.) just as clearly as you can hear his own influence on modern artists (Titus Andronicus, Chuck Ragan, Against Me!, Gaslight Anthem, Tegan & Sara...hell, even Taylor Swift to an extent). To me he just epitomizes everything good that American rock music can be.

Saw him about a year ago, he put on the best show I've seen. Hearing him do the full-band arrangement of Born in the USA in all its righteous fury and then tear straight into Born to Run was the most bad-ass concert moment I think I'll ever witness.
