Turntable noob here.

Should I get the ATLP120 or the U-turn Orbit Basic? From my research they're p comparable, the AT seems like its slightly better in performance but the Orbit is smaller (space is an issue for me), the design is better and it's cheaper depending on the pre-amp I get.

Also turntable general. Thanks homies <3

I love my orbit. I also love the fact that u-turn sent me a free acrylic platter which makes me love it more.

I never had any experience with lp120. It seems like a good entry level table. I think there is more customization options with that turntable?

Also have you taken into consideration on when you want you turntable? I think u-turn is still backed up with orders and it may take awhile for you to receive it.

Damn, I've heard they were backed up a couple months ago, hadn't considered they might still be.

I'm going to look into purchasing a turntable setup soon. The bare minimum that I need is the table, a cartridge, stereo, and preamp, right?

Don't buy a turntable

I have an LP120 and I really like it. I wouldn't consider it "entry level" exactly... it's a good table.

It's entry level in the sense that "I am too lazy to do any of my own research and this is the first thing on amazon that doesn't look like a toy" is entry level. I'd never buy one just because it isn't worth it.

what do you mean by stereo
you mean a receiver?

I bought it because it was within my budget and it's my 3rd turntable. I did a lot of research, also upgraded the cartridge (Shure) and found that it's a damn good table, especially with a good setup.

You don't have to spend $400 on a turntable for it to be good.

If that's what you need, then yes
