why do blacks usually listen to rap/hip-hop and only rap/hip-hop? you hardly see blacks in bands or branch out into other types of music. its almost always rap/hip-hop with blacks. would like to know why they don't branch out and try new styles of music

Now if they had access, would they branch out? According to my theory, probably not. You see conformity, to me, is a very strong psychological force, and I truly think that growing up constantly around other people, especially other people that all listen to the same Migos and Keef, is too strong and up front of a force, to the point where they may not even think about other music that hasn't basically been shoved in their face by their environment and popular media. |
