So where do I start with david bowie? I just listened to about half of the album hunky dory. It wasn't very enjoyable. I was wondering if there are any david bowie albums that are worth listening to though because I like the songs changes bowie space oddity and fame. I was wondering if he has any albums that aren't the really simplistic rock music kind of stuff. Like I see that his album ziggy stardust and whatever is rated one of the highest albums on rym but that's obviously because they're a bunch of fucking classic rock enthusiasts who use the site.

Tin Machine II is generally considered his greatest album. Give it a try.

changes was done really well though, the rest of the album was really forgettable. Changes has sort of a timeless quality. Every so often there's a track that is really able to pull together an emotional climax that can't be copied throughout the course of an album. Like that song just somehow made a really good impression on me, I sort of feel like the album was putting it's best foot forward by putting that song in the beginning.

Start with Young Americans and listen to each album up through and including Scary Monsters.

Do you like cocaine? Station To Station. Soul? Young Americans. Perfection? Iggy Pop's The Idiot through Bowie's Lodger.

Hunky Dory is pretty mediocre. Try Low and "Heroes".

Try ChangesOneBowie or whatever that greatest hits album is called, and check out the albums where your favorite songs are on.
