It is by definition experimental, the sound collages were equal parts homages to 60's pop music and representation of dream cycles, similar to Explanation II, which was released alongside Dusk at Cubist Castle. You need not look further than the album cover itself to get the interpretation: I find it beautiful and you find it pretentious, that's okay, but realize it was completely necessary to the goal of the album
