avoid audiotechnica and crosley and you should be fine. i use a music hall, it's a great model, 200-300 bucks retail.

record players that cost less than 150 are typically not the ones that you want.

Nope! But there are some add-ons you can buy that will let you play 78s. Also, you'd need a needle used specifically for 78 RPM records. If you use the sort of needle used for 33s and 45s on 78s, you'll wear it out in no time.

Best option is to purchase a separate turntable for 78s.

As for a good turntable, I'd recommend the U-turn Orbit Plus. It's got an acrylic platter, counterweight, and comes with a Grado Black cartridge. Really bitchin' setup for the price, damn good deal. ~$300

been looking for this thread, can someone let me know if i did well on this? i bought my first record player today. had to get the other sound system and speakers along with it but it sounds amazing.

basically, did i do better than buying a crosley? it's a pro-ject xtension 9 evo ?

dunno bout the stereo and speakers but the dudes said they were alright but weren't too big a deal for me.

Audio technica lp 120

Avoid the Lp 60 though because no counterweight.

i went to go see Dean Ween Group a couple days ago and waited an hour after the show to talk to Deaner and he never came outside. I was bummed.

>> No.54498159

Best Buy sells a Sony turntable for ~$110. It's definitely on the lower end of the spectrum but isn't bad for a starter turntable.

Carbons are probably the best you can do for an entry level turntable, but a $400 price tag is difficult to swallow for people who aren't even sure if vinyl is for them.

But, if the post in OP's picture was really the original, how would him posting a picture he took onto facebook be wrong? He's not exactly re-posting if that is in fact the original post made to facebook, it's an original that he couldn't see on his wall since it was never on there before he posted it
Please, give me some sources that people do the things you say they do
