The Floyd works exactly like it's supposed to, it always stays in tune, the neck is super smooth, and so is the fretboard, its got a comfy weight to it. The Active pickups it comes with are the best stock pickups I've ever heard, and surprisingly sound very similar to an EMG-81, not quite the same but really close. To not have to drop $200 on pickups? That's worth more than I think people give credit for.
The only thing I didn't like about it is the fretjob was really rough, and the frets were sticking out a bit in places, but 40 minutes with a file and that problem was completely solved.
I think if people could just stop for 20 seconds and realize you don't need $3000 guitars or certain brands, you can actually find real value out there.
And I'm not saying don't go out and buy that $3000 les paul you've always wanted, but next time you're out like, I really like my les paul, and I wan't another guitar but only have a bit of money. Try some shit you wouldn't normally try.
Or for the guy who goes out and spends all of his research time on /mu/ and thinks the only way he can not get made fun of and suck is to go buy a $900 telecaster and $100 yardsale tubeamp some dude made in a basement in new Orleans during the floods, instead of find a good valued guitar and a decent amp.
I have other guitars too obviously, this was just a recent pickup of mine that I thought deserved a small highlight |
