Two years ago today, Jason Molina (Songs: Ohia, Magnolia Electric Co., Secretly Canadian Records) died of alcohol abuse-related organ failure.

Any have any memories? Stories? Favorite songs?

Fuck me, meant to say 'anyone have any memories'. Ah well. Here's my favorite song of Jason's.

This is one of the best albums for those post-breakup feels. I think this song perfectly encapsulates Jason.

I I don't let myself listen to his music anymore because it makes me too sad

I've thought about doing that with certain artists, but I never have. How's it working for you, man?

A truly gifted artist. I remember stumbling onto this song in high school and I was just mesmerized. When I heard he had passed, I legitimately wept.

I have memories of listening to Didn't It Rain and realizing that no matter how sad I felt, Jason Molina felt sadder.
Was a sad day when he died, I remember feeling as though a friend had left, in spite of me never even having been in the same city as him at any given moment, let alone meeting him. His music spoke volumes.

This one was my favorite of his.

I'm still sad, but I think it was a good decision. I remember nights when I would listen to The Lioness or Didn't It Rain, times I didn't feel I would escape from. The music wasn't the cause, but it didn't help. I still love him and his music.

His only album I have is Magnolia Electric Co.

I really like Farewell Transmission but get bored after that. Any suggestions?

The Lioness is definitely worth checking out.
