It sounds like MM doing Imagine Dragons. The lyrics are great, but the song is too awful to really depend on them the way it does. It's clearly meant to rely on them, but it just doesn't work for me. I guess I can see where you're coming from, but really, it feels like one of the more somber songs on the album. And I quite like that. As you said, i love the lyrics on the song, I also particularly like the way Isaac's voice deepens when he says "wicked campaign." I'll admit I don't like the backing vocals too much though. Overall I just like the tone of the song.

I'd say try We Were Dead Before the Ship Even Sank. If you like Missed the Boat, People as Places, and We've Got Everything, you'll probably love Good News. If you like Dashboard, Fire it Up, and Invisible, you'll probably love STO.

Fruit and Parlour tricks are good but wildly subjective. Night On The Sun is made by it's title track and No One's First is my favourite of them all. Considering everybody hates modern MM it's got some belters on it.

If you dig early Modest Mouse google for the "Rarities And Unreleased Material [Unofficial]" mix. A lot of great recordings that never got released.
