The only issue is she is working with Joel Little

Now I dont mean any offense towards Joel because he has done so much for Lorde and has done great vocal production

but he used to just be a pop punk singer and I reckon his production is lacking and she needs to find a better producer
This minimalism thing worked but it also seems a bit too bare and rushed

No, she only had one actual hit. She had a couple other songs that were pushed, but they were never hits, most people don't even remember them anymore and certainly won't remember them 5 years from now. As overrated as Royals was, it will be remembered and was an actual legit hit.
