Can we start a shitty set up thread?
ive seen worse
>>53820916NO
>>53820824at least they are smart enough to have it balanced
>>53820916don't stack your records like that
>>53820941not mine
>>53820824yes ;_;
>>53820916> dat soup
>>53820824
>tfw looking back on the very first iteration of my setupgod it was so bad but so comfy
>>53821003I think its just some kid so idk its hard to be super critical>>53821473before Finn was born?
>>53821674>before Finn was born?nahhe was on right speaker out of frame
>>53820916>Seriously having cans of Campbells to be artsy This is Warhol's fault.
>>53821674>records probably grom dad's old forgotten stuff>camera>fucking soupIs it possible to try any harder? The only thing it misses is a typewriter.
>>53821795I mean that looks like meddle on topthat's a solid record
>>53821795>>53821812the typewritter probably came after this pic, on top of Meddle :^)
What's wrong with some of these? Also, why shouldn't you stack records?
>>53820941why is that particularly bad?
>>53821812means his dad had good taste and was probably a cool kid back in the days
>>53821903records on the bottom can get flattenedThere's no downside to storing them standing up and it's easier to browse/take records out
>>53821903Fucks up the sleeves. They even mention that on High Fidelity.
>>53821903they warp
>>53821933that film should be essential viewing before you post here
>>53821952>why do people put a 45 rpm adapter on to pof their LPsbecause it reduces rotoacoustic-velodensity, you ignorant tart
>>53821952wat
>>53822004keeping records upright makes them less likely to warp
>>53822090i was wating the 45 adaptor
>>53822111OMFG THE PAIN
>>53822144oh right yeah idk why ppl do that
>>53822386It's usually a weight or clamp to keep the record down on the platter nice and solidthe joke is that that is not a weight and it's a 45 adaptor
>>53822386holy fuck that cat looks softwould pet
>>53822417yeah but i dont think the ppl doing it will have even heard of record clamps I think they just think ok that thing fits there so it should go thereidk maybe Im wrong
>>53822503What's Darkside doing in there
>>53820972this doesn't look that bad overall, but how everything is stacked makes me nervous
>>53821996haha i like youre words
i've got a decent mid-budget set up that sounds pretty goodi would have had a MUCH better turntable because my friend was giving away a whole kenwood setup (where the cd player came from) which i was gonna split with my friend, but some other guy we know decided to take the turntable for some reason (which, he has an already great turntable that he wouldnt give me and four records to play on it)i pretty much use the ISA for its eq and headphone jack considering it's a shitty amp and my monitors + mixer work much better
>>53822684the speakers are actually very nice>stackedno no no.Where did you see anything stacked m8
>>53821674> classical guitar with a pickt-that's just... bad...
>>53820916It's like one of those "count how many things is wrong" cartoons.>Records stacked>CDs standing up for no reason>le vintage camera>le vintage pop art cans>Guitar propped against the wall on hardwood floor>Pick wedged into strings
Sure, here's my own
>>53823233
>>53823233>the great misdirectmy fucking nigger. you excited for their new album? i don't know how they'll top parallax ii though.
>>53823233isn't it a problem to leave the belt exposed like that? That's a really neat tt though
My setup, it works, or well did, the amplifier sort of needs to be replaced. My speakers I use for my computer also connect to the amplifier. I could use some recommendations for new, not too expensive amplifiers if anybody has any. I need to be able to hook my bookshelf computer speakers and turntable up to it.
>>53823233Deafheaven's Demo? Nice.
>>53823260I actually haven't listened anything by them since Parallax I if I'm 100% honest>>53823285Only if you somehow are clumsier than I am, which is very, because I've never caught it or anything>>53823335Yeah it was the pack with the slipmat, tshirt and record
>>53823389dude really? listen to parallax ii asap. by far their best album.
Unrelated question. Do any of you guys know of any good record clamps to put on the center of the turntable to keep the record perfectly flat as it spins?
Maybe you guys can help me turn my shitty setup into one not so shitty. Currently have something similar to pic related, a stereo from the 80's with a bsr turntable on top. Started collecting a bunch of records before i really realized that my setup isnt really the greatest. Anyway, I'm looking to buy a new turntable and just replace the bsr turntable on the stereo. IS this something that could be done? What would be a good turntable? Looking to spend around $150 if possible.
>>53822111I fucking cringed
>>53821170I've got the same amp :^)
