Well it fucking is.

There is a world of music outside the general essentials and your radio pop/rock nostalgia crap.

Explore.

Maybe OP listened to it for the first time and wanted to share his thoughts on it. Is that so wrong? If you have a problem then make your own unique thread about a subject you may feel is not talked about, and if you're already doing so, what are you doing here?

Ehh, not really a fan of smooth jazz 107.3 the wave and anything with 'Neo" in it is suspish. Our differences bring us together though!

That's actually a good point. I'm actually pretty disappointed in /mu/ as well, I mean I started browsing here again for the first time in a couple of years, and I've seen the shit threads get shittier. However, I think because the shit threads stick out so much you might end up ignoring what good ones there are. Then again, what do I know?

Early Weezer was fucking amazing, what went wrong?

>Blue
Masterpiece, lyrics are hilarious and relatable.
Cheesy at times but it's meant to be.
>Pinkerton
Masterpiece, a bit louder and less whiney than Blue.
My favourite album and heavily influenced their later work in Red and Green.
>Green
Not as good as Pinkerton or Blue but still a really good album, couldn't possibly live up to Pinkerton and kind of fell inbetween Blue and Pinkerton.
>Maladroit
Picks up somewhere in the middle of the album (Take Control) but somewhat of a disappointing album, expected more among the lines of Green.
>Make Believe
Horrible, lazy, boring.
>Red
Return of Weezer, their second best album to me.
Everything was just a bit more weezer, funny uplifting songs that don't take themselves so serious.
>Raditude
To me this was the worst album they made, it doesn't even sound like Weezer anymore but a generic pop punk album Blink 182 could've made.
>Hurley
Has a few good songs here and there but not defenitely not a good album, doesn't work as one big album.
Gets way too much hate in my opinion though.
Did make me thing that this really was the end of Weezer once again.
>Everything Will Be Alright In The End
Didn't really do much for me but wasn't bad, atleast better than the other two albums they released before this and makes me hopeful for their next album.

I noticed this too, I remember when post-ironicism became a populair tool against the growing popularity of this imageboard.
But now they have taken this to such extremes that most of the board consists of nothing of post-ironicism, albums we've all played to death already or bait threads about [input /mu/core album]
Quality threads get maybe 20 replies and then die off.
Other quality threads get destroyed by off-topic discussions, half of them being bait as well.

Let's be honest, Reddit is a much better website these days to be recommended things to watch, read or listen to but we're all so used to this place that we can't leave anymore.

We all say Reddit is shit but what evidence do you have for that, go to a music subreddit and see how well everything is organized and how helpful people are but no, we rather hang out in this shithole and be dicks to eachother.

>what went wrong?

Pinkerton was released to public indifference. Rivers Cuomo, desperate for acceptance as he is, vowed never to write anything as deeply personal as Pinkerton again and basically threw a 20-year tantrum where he wrote the most generic pop rock he could. Then Pinkerton wound up being a cult classic and he realized it was too late to go back.
