So I'm on my fourth listen in the past 24 hours. I've never been so sad listening to music. Its like an addiction to sadness. This album is marginally better then LYSF, both are great, but holy moly is this beautiful. I know GY!BE gets discussed all the time but, idk, fuck it I thought I'd put this up.

What version are you listening to OP?

Their are two versions. CD and Vinyl. The CD version actuall. The vinyl version is the orginal released in 1997. It is shorter then the CD version (although technically it should never end on vinyl), very similar but without as much crescendos.

The CD version was released a year later, is longer then an hour. Much more intense at moments and has more field recordings and other atmospheric moments.

Both versions are interesting in their own unique way. Personally I like the 1997 version more because the record packaging is absolutely spectacular, filled with lots of goodies and cool things.

I never came back to this thread. I meant for this to be a LYSF vs. F#A# infinity thread. I guess I forgot to include that part.

The Original. Idk, I heard what your saying about the CD version, but I just love this one so much. I just don't want it to be not as good, cause this album really hit me on a level some others never really did. I probably sound like a fag since this is pretty entry level, but I don't listen to much post-rock.

I'd say I enjoy LYSF a bit more. While F#A# is mostly just depressing, LYSF covers every emotion. From happiness to sadness/anxiety, and then finally it ends with a strange feeling of hope. Both are fantastic though.
