i used to hate the beginning of the album. but no song has grown on me like lounge (closing time) did.

i think lcw has higher high points, TMA is more cohesive overall and is much better with themes and a bit more put together not just musically but thematically. a lot of space and full circle imagery which brings home the loneliness and insignificance he feels. although LCW does do a pretty good job with the theme.

i feel like tma has a lull in it and although most tracks are very good only a few blow me out of the water. i only ever listen to that album as a whole i never pick out songs (i typically only listen to albums as a whole but since i love mm's entire discography sometimes ill just be wanting individual songs and ill pick them out but never tma)

and the rougher feel of LCW is truly appealing. its more emotional in some respects and tma is more so in other respects.
