Is there such thing as ambient hip-hop/rap? with actual vocals, not just instrumentals.
I can't imagine ambient + rap working very well — most ambient vocals are either wordless, "ethereal" vocals (female most of the time) or samples that can more or less be ignored. Even those tend to be a bad idea as they still call for attention, which works against ambient.Just search for instrumental hip hop, many albums have a few tracks with vocals anyway. Or just very laid-back hip hop, might do as well.
>>53289138Ambient sort of precludes vocals being involved, dunnit?
>>53289138Little bit of Shabazz Palaces, maybe? Their second most recent album whose name is escaping me.
>>53289467Ambient production with wavy rapping

cLOUDDEAD of course.
>>53289138Also Blazo's second album might be fitting, but it has a smooth-jazzier vibe more than an ambient sound.
>>53290083Seconding this. Literally the definition of ambient hip hop. Also fantastic.
