Rockets Fall On Rocket Falls might honestly be their worst track ever, and it really lowers my opinion of this album.

It's not really bad overall though, but I still agree with the majority consensus that it's their worst (unless it's All Lights Fucked, which we haven't heard).

The length of the quiet section is completely unjustified, it passes the point of suspense, hardly develops at all, and honestly largely feels like filler.

That's funny, because to me, LYSF feels like old hat compared to F#A#. Yanqui feels very fresh.

Loud, droning, very dark.
Probably their heaviest album, and their gloomiest after F#A#. These are only two real songs, but they get into a lot of sinister, middle-eastern sounding riffs and jams.

I disagree. It was a pretty big departure from LYSF, I thought. F#A# was foreboding and apocalyptic, SRFNZK was similar but more concise, and LYSF continued that sound, in a more emotionally varied direction.
YUXO was different, just not different in a good way.
ADBA was different in a good way.

Honestly i dont like Fist whatsoever, i think everything else is breddy good though.

To me, Yanqui is more straightforward and enjoyable. It's not lack of variety but streamlined and focused on the builds itself.

Yeah, I love this album more than LYSF and F#A#.

i agree that people on here should stop taking Pitchfork so seriously. I read it sometimes and it can be useful for finding good music, but the way some /mu/tants act like their scores are the objective judge of music and that anything below a 8.3 BNM is trash is ridiculous.

Guys, I just got into this band a few days ago. So far I've only heard F#A# and it was fantastically dark and dreary. It created a visual of a blackened earth in ruins so well.

Will I be let down with their subsequent releases? I want more dark and dreary.

LYSF contains a wider variety of emotions and even the darker parts don't quite have the same feel as F#A#infinity (not as apocalyptic-feeling, more personal).

Really none of their other albums are quite the same, but their latest has some dark parts, although, once again, not quite the same.

Their EP also is pretty dark, particularly the second track, although it feels more like the apocalypse is happening, rather than the aftermath.

I felt like this was the awkward middle child of their Hospice style and their Familiars style. There were some great tracks but I'd say it doesn't drive any specific feelings home. Probably their weakest LP.

Its hard to rank Godspeeds albums because they are all unique in their own way. With that said LYSF has to be my favorite because it invokes so many feelings. It can easily make me cry. Just thinking about the trumpets coming in on "They don't sleep on the beach" gets me teary.
