Thoughts on this album?

Made this thread the other night but I think it was too late to get any responses.

I'm enjoying it quite a bit, lots of interesting sounds and arrangement.

Anyone else hearing some stuff from N64 games in here? Maybe I'm just imagining it but I swear some of the sounds are straight out of Mario 64 or maybe Banjo Kazooie/Tooie

I thought it was a very cool album. Nice surprise too, since I had only recently heard the first Fourth World Magazine album before the second one appeared in my what.cd notifications.

I've been meaning to get into more solo Spencer Clark stuff since I've nearly comprehensively gone through what's available of James Ferraro on the internet, but that 3 hour album that recently popped up called H.R. Giger's Studiolo or something might be a bit much

yeah fuck it i just ordered it and im buying vol 1 on discogs

I know this is probably stupid, but are you guys high when you listen to this? I've got Bamboo For Two and also this in FLAC and I try to listen to it but it just never really grabs me. The songs don't go anywhere and it sounds like he's just randomly hitting buttons and seeing where it goes. I will agree that the sounds and textures and all that are really fucking fantastic and I can almost listen to it for that, but it just never really interests me enough. Is there something I'm not getting? I love Ferraro's stuff and while I can't listen to a whole album of his in one sitting, I can enjoy it for much longer than this.

bump

>>53070125
nah not high

I will say that the textures and interesting sounds are a big reason why I like it but, especially after my second listen I'm really enjoying it compositionally too. Especially Frolicking and Monsters.

I've been waiting to clear out some more of his Vodka Soap material from my backlog before I gave it a listen, but the sample on soundcloud is making me too excited. I'm probably gonna give it a spin tonight. Either way, all of Spencer's stuff is crazy underrated

so is this james ferraro or someone else?

>> No.53075771

This is his band-mate from The Skaters, Spencer Clark.

>> No.53075888

Fuck I was just about to make a thread about this album but it came up duplicate reply.

It is like one of the most vivid yet abstract records I've heard that isn't a James Ferraro record, I wish Specer Clark was just as a active as Ferraro because his stuff comes across as a bit more realised than Ferraro's half-baked material.

Has anybody got a download link for Vol I?
