Then tries to backpedal when the interviewer points out that this privileged statement seems to fly in the face of his carefully crafted "badass iconoclast" persona. It's almost like he accidentally admitted to being a big phony or something. The irony of Marilyn fucking Manson saying that we should kowtow to terrorists because they can't handle free speech, so he'll stick to pissing off religious old grandmothers rather than anyone who might retaliate... the former are the people who need to be made fun of, their ideology discredited, more than anyone else in the world right now. What he's really saying is he's as big a millionaire dickhead coward as 99 percent of all the other media figures in our supposedly free society.
>>53058959>Mason is a phonystop the presses. I like the album. If he went farther into bluesy territory it could have been great instead of just good, but it's easily his best album in 10 years
it was pretty neat, not triptych material though.Mephistopheles>Slaveking>Cupid>Day 3>other stuff
>>53059204basically. No bad songs on it (a step up from born villain which was about 70% bad songs) and some honest to christ great stuff.
>>53059315Killing strangers was terribly written though
i like it
>>53058959actually, in the article he clarifies that if he felt like he needed to say something and piss someone off, he would do it. I think he was just trying to say that, in this instance, he wouldn't have bothered because he didn't really feel like it was necessary to take such a risk just to fuck with a group already known to be crazy, dogmatic, and just generally impossible to get to by pretty much everyone. The developed world already discredits their ideas completely. You can argue with whether or not they still need to be criticized, but it's obvious that Manson doesn't agree with you and his reluctance to get involved is more about his opinions on the matter than him pussying out. He does come off as needlessly edgy in this article though
His "golden switchblade" comments were needlessly edgy and immature.
