So much innovation and great songwriting on here. The drums, the screaming guitar work, the colorful lyrics and dare I say one of the most influential debut albums of all time. All views are appreciated here. Share what you think.

Define rock and roll. Are you just referring to the classic rock era? If so, then yes, Are You Experienced is the GOAT debut of the era.

I bought AYE back in the mid 90's, and still have it, Love or Confusion, 3rd stone and Are You experienced are monumental tracks, the foresight Hendrix had in using the reversed guitar section in AYE is mindblowing

Beatles did reversed first on both I'm Only Sleeping and Tomorrow Never Knows in '66

Objectively, this is the correct answer, though I would rather listen to Hendrix

Yes I'm not arguing who used reversed samples etc.

More the fact that Hendrix knew exactly what he wanted in the track note for note, played it, reversed it and used it.
It shows great command and foresight/planning on his behalf

>would rather listen to hendrix than Little Richard
That makes you objectively wrong on all matters pertaining to rock 'n' roll.

I love Hendrix. of course I haven't heard all of the albums you guys mentioned but I'm opened minded.

Why does this sound more daring than anything the Beatles put it pre-sgt. pepper?
