Let's play a game /mu/.

1. Look up an album you love on Metacritic/Amazon/whatever.
2. Screenshot a negative user review.
3. Post here.
4.Other people try to guess what album they're talking about.

"It is despicable that this is tagged with dance-punk so often, when this truly holds no regards to anything of the sort, especially in this day and age of electronic dominance within music. This sounds to be stuck in the late-seventies, drenched in horribly bland white-man's funk (read as: Talking Heads), with no appeal or impact of any regard to be had. A continuing trend for this band. Their 2007 album was less expressive than their debut. The good news is, they can't get any worse."

>I'm amused that people are giving this album such high reviews. I love [musician], so I was surprised when I received this for Christmas that barely two tracks on this album could be called "music." Music inspires, entertains, or at least makes us think of something in a new light. This album made me want to club baby seals or punch holes in my walls, both of which my parents would hardly appreciate.

>I would find it hard to imagine the people who sit around listening to this cacophonous collection of sounds (which could be found in your average back alley or college dorm past midnight), but if I were forced to, I suppose I would imagine them in communes or a hippy farm in Oregon (because heywith drugs this album might sound a whole lot better). I can understand [musician] recording these tracks and saving them on his own computer as some sort of momento of the past, but distributing them to the publicnojust no. If you're looking to buy a gift for a [musician]-loving relative, save your ten bucks and don't make the same mistake my brother did.

>I bought this album because I am so into Sigur Ros at the moment and it seems all the reviews I read say that "...if you like Sigur Ros you will like [band].." Let me say this album is no where near a Sigur Ros experience. If I could compare them to anyone it would be very early Cocteau Twins , though I must be clear I don't think the singer is anywhere close to the artistic sense and vocal talent of Elizabeth Fraser. It would be more palatable if the production value was higher....it sounds terrible. The sound quality is comparable to some old VHS tapes I have from the mid 80's that I recorded off the TV ( Then soaked in water for a few days!) .

I love how he accurately describes what the album sounds like in the last sentence

easy one coming through:

>Okay, __________ just proves to me that ___________ should have been a one-and-done band. Well, I guess _____________ deserves to exist, but I still think ___________ would have benefited from being short-lived. Quite frankly, they're way too prolific for a band that wore their slacker aesthetic proudly on their sleeves. I mean, ___________ almost makes me want to second guess their first two albums. I'm like, "wait... this band put together back-to-back quality albums?" But then I remember that they did and this album shouldn't have the power to ruin ____________ as a whole for me.

>I really wish ______________ would just shut up. He sings/talks like he thinks he's better than he actually is, which is frustrating. And that hair of his... it's just so boyish and irritating. But I've got a boyish appearance with similar hair, so maybe this album elicits feelings of self-hate within me. Just another reason to dislike ______________. Anyway, it's just a meandering mess of dull songs (that DOESN'T give it its charm, stfu). Some songs even start promising; like "___", everything was going fine... but the band just goes out of their way to find ways to make their songs sound like crap on here. Lazy, sometimes noisy, sometimes immature, sometimes trying hard to be clever and cool, but always dull. It starts well with "_________" which is classic _________, but the rest is garbage (except "__________"... it's an epic fest of riffage that seems like they put some real effort into, even though it's still not that great of a song). Listening to this album makes me want to listen to ___________". Y'know, real music.
