The new Avalanches record will be to Since I Left You, as Random Access Memories is to Discovery and you all know it.
I don't think so, I think what's taking them so long is this time, they have to go through all of those thousands of sample clearances. Also, >there's a Danny Brown feature
>>52857100>there's a Panda Bear feature>there's a Julian Casablancas feature>there's a DJ Falcon feature>there's a Giorgo Moroder featureSeeming familiar yet?
>>52857100No one's going to release an album with literally thousands of samples if they have to go through the standard sample clearance process. You either release it for free, or you find a way to argue against having to clear the samples
the leak was fake in case you haven't heard op
>>52857240I know
Amherst is literally better than the avalanches
>>52857148Yeah, but RAM wasn't bad because of any of those features. In fact, those songs with features are some of the better tracks.
>>52857390>Beyond>Horizon>MotherboardWotOn top of that, most tracks had features
>>52857282Amherst is fucking awesome, I downloaded all of his stuff and showed a few of my friends. They dig him too.
>>52857148This does honestly have me worried. I just want the original six Avalanches turning out another record, not a hodgepodge of random musicians joining in.
>>52857676what makes you think that any of the artists featured will be singing or rapping throughout the songs? if anyone gets featured they are most likely going to get sampled and edited
>>52857761Danny has confirmed he was working with them (original content, yada yada)
>>52857761>>52857785Plus there was a demo with a guy (can't remember who it was) doing original content over their music that found its way to the Internet ages ago. Leaning toward original and more traditional collaborative work.
>>52857785>>52857800Yeah this is what I have mixed feelings about. SILY had such a unique feel because of it's mixing and a lack of recognizable voices/influences on it, so them adding stuff onto the samples seems kinda meh. But then again, the stuff on Undersea Community and El Producto that they played over was actually just as good as SILY, so there's that. I don't know, I'm kind of torn there.Either way I don't like the idea of the Danny Brown, Pink, etc. collabs. Nothing against those musicians, I just hate it when producers try to shoehorn as many big (or semi-big) names into an album that they can. It just feels like a really generic "pop music" move that I thought The Avalanches would be above.
>>52857975at the time of recording they definitely were not as big especially ariel
>>52857100>there are multiple Danny Brown features
>>52857100>mfw they announce every track has O.T. Genasis rapping over it
I don't get it.There's hackers taking down PSN and leaking government secrets, but no one has taken the time to get access to some schmuck at Modular's emails to find some info about the album?
>>52859293>what is internal accessthe number of disgruntled Modular employees with IT knowledge is literally an order of magnitude or two less than a corporation the size of Sony or organization the size of the US government. There's probably like one guy who's mildly irritated at management and he's not gonna risk his job for you nerds.
what's with all the Avalanches hype? has anything been confirmed yet or is it just "new year, possible new Avalanches" yearly hype
>>52859478There's supposedly a leaked track going around on soundcloud. Not sure if it's authentic or not though
>>52859527It was fake.
>>52859527It was a track from this guy named Amherst and it got mistaken for an Avalanches song.
>>52859567>>52859591I figured. I'm guessing that's where all the hype came from
>>52859649>I'm guessing that's where all the hype came fromYeah. Granted, Amherst is actually pretty good. It's just that it's like the handjob of music...it's great and all but you know what you really want.
http://pitchfork.com/news/56060-danny-brown-says-his-avalanches-collaboration-will-change-the-world/
>>52857100then why didnt it take 14 years to clear samples for since i left you
>>52859817theres a version of sily with a ton more samples and way more obvious it's more of a dj mixthere have been rumors that they've gotten in trouble for samples used on SILY and idk if that's true or not
what if like deep down in some random website almost nobody visits regularly, is the album, sitting in some thread that nobody contributed to, just sitting there in a file, in prime condition, and nobody knows.
>>52859883I have thought of this but for Jenny Death.
>>52859883we must find it ;_;
>>52857975>that I thought The Avalanches would be above.Daily reminder that the only reason the Avalanches approached SILY with a sample based world music influenced sort of sound is that they felt they could not compete with the hard hitting bangers that started to emerge in electronic music scenes at the time.If they could (and considering the success of SILY, I bet they can now) they would probably do something super poppy and overtly produced and generic.Hopefully they recognize that what made SILY such a great pop record was more than just the dancable aspect of it, but the feelings and atmosphere and tone that they captured in it.
>>52859919yeah me too. what if somebody just downloaded some random file by accident and didn't know about death grips, and the file was called "disc 2 - jd" and they deleted it.the only copy of it's existence, gone.
>>52859919So I am not the only one.
>>52859919>the new Avalanches album is Jenny Deathdamn...
it'll be vaporwave?
>>52859952uh it doesn't really matter cause dg still possess the master tapes and physical copies are coming in like a month
>>52859933>they would probably do something super poppy and overtly produced and generic.Have you heard their two EPs?
>>52860010No, how are they?
>>52860007yeah but this sounds stupid but what if they only intended to put one copy of it on the interwebz so that one person could share it with another and then it keeps going but the person who got the first copy didn't know about dg so they just deleted it.
>>52857240Ahhh, shucks. It sounded pretty damn good, too.
>>52860094they'd probably try again dont worry
>>52857061what, the same?yeah no shit
>>52860045Very good.
>>52857061To be honest though, Random Access Memories is one of the most over-hated things on this board. It's honestly pretty damn good.
>>52861516It's just typical 4chan contrarianism. It's actually a great album.
>>52861516yep
>mfw I've listened to New Whip more than any other Avalanches track
>>52863203>>52863243>people who don't like my soulless disco rehashes are contrarianTypical.
yeah, RAM was such a huge letdown.
>>52861516>Random Access Memories is one of the most over-hated things on this boardWere you here the week after it leaked? And month after the p4k score? If anything RAM isn't hated enough, as demonstrated by >>52863203 >>52863243.
>>52857061You mean it will be much worse? But Since I Left You was terrible to begin with.
>>52857800Are you talking about A Cowboy Overflow of the Heart? Love it. Love David Berman, too.https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7XTrz0yvxe0
>>52863739>tfw it's already been over 2 years since that track came outcaptcha: David
>>52863763>tfw maybe more silver jews music
Stop being so pessimistic, and R.A.M wasn't even bad, just drawn out at times.
>>52857240Ha, told you faggots.
