>shelves in the mail for next week

Here's my dirt cheap setup that still pumps out pretty decently. Yard sales ftw.

Dual 508 tt with atn95e cart
Nad 3020i amp
Bose 301 II speakers

Entry level doesn't get better.

I have very little space, what are good layout tips?

Still not a good point. NEVER, EVER put speakers on the same surface as your turntable.

>> No.52755695

>>52755663
>that damage control
Why not snap your whole setup then?
Also having two speakers on the same channel is only relevant when having front and rear. Your setup will fuck up phases.

I didn't use to have it like that, but I moved into a new room and there's literally no other way to arrange it. I actually barely use the speakers anyway apart from quiet background music because I have flatmates either side of me.

Why? Is your room only two feet wide? If you've got nowhere to stand them then wall mount them with some wall brackets.

>Is your room only two feet wide?
Its about six feet wide but it's a ridiculously awkward shape with a built-in wardrobe and only two sockets.

>mount them
>costs about £100
>will get btfo by my landlord
>leaving in 8 months
I'm a student. It's a temporary solution. Most of my uni friends in London don't even have room for a turntable.

Can anybody help me out with a problem?

On a lot of records (mostly older ones), it seems I am missing certain parts of the stereo sound. For example: right now I am listening to She's a Rainbow by the Rolling Stones. Everything sounds fine, except when I get the chorus "She comes in coooolooooors" and then the "la la la" part is completely gone. I know for a fact that it's my setup that is causing this, but what could it be? trying to troubleshoot this.

Folks are right about those speakers OP. That Pioneer receiver looks dope as fuck though. What model is that?

I bought a couple of Mordaunt Short wall brackets from Richer Sounds for like £20. I don't think they do them any more but have a look:

http://www.richersounds.com/products/hi-fi-separates/accessories/speaker-brackets

Still, I guess there's not much you can do if your landlord is unwilling to budge.

Mounting them is the issue. These walls are plaster with support beams, so if the wrong part was drilled, the whole thing would crumble away.

>>52758583
I can't really do anything about the speakers for now, as explained above.
Amp's an A-10-K, nothing fancy but does the job. Built-in phono stage is something I really couldn't do without.

>>52759470
Very nice, that a Thorens TD-160? Also what are the Wharfedales like? I was going to get some but they were sold out so I got Tannoys.
