Foo Fighters mainman Dave Grohl recently blamed technology for the decrease of passion among fans, stressing that high tech can never make one happy.

He told Red Bulletin (via Alternative Nation): "People have forgotten what it's like to really rock out because they spend all day in front of a freakin' computer, which they hail as the new God."

He added, "They seriously think technology can make them rich, if they stumble on something new.

"But I'm telling you: technology might make you rich, yet it will never make you happy."

In one of the recent updates, Grohl criticized the critics of "Sonic Highways." He told the Rolling Stone:

"I think maybe people misunderstood the concept and thought that we were going to incorporate all of the different flavors or genres from each city, and, to me, it didn't make any sense because the last thing I want to do is chase something that's not real."

He went on to admit that he had been disappointed by some of the bemused critical response to the record:

"You're like, 'Hey, I've done this thing! F--k, I can't wait for people to hear this! I'm so proud of it. It was such a blast to do.' You get excited and then you realize that people didn't really understand it in the first place. So you're like, 'Aw, f--k it."

>mediocre washed up artists
>blame technology for their mediocre music
>instead of making good music

Rock is by far my favourite genre, but shit like this is why people use terms like "rockist". Every old person to ever live is convinced young people don't have the same passion and insight they do. Maybe the world just passed you by and you can't adapt, gramps.

also foo fighters suck

More like Dave Grohl the absolute madman.

Technology can help make good music though. Obviously, shitty musicians can't make good music regardless of what kinds of technology available to them but it's a nice tool for good musicians.

Is Sonic Highways the new Foo Fighters album? This comment seems kind of disjointed as first he's criticizing technology in general and then he goes on to say that critics just didn't "get" his shitty buttrock album. Is he trying to say that there's a connection? Because that's not clear by his comment.
