I'm starting vocal lessens at college this semester so i'll probably start a music project then but I will be replacing my telecaster pickups with texas specials this weekend when my soldering iron comes in the mail so i guess thats a project >General guitar and bass discussion What are some good exercises to get more consistent technique? My alternate picking is kinda sloppy but any exercise I could incorporate into my repertoire and get better is dope. |
| >> | No.52718776 I started about a month ago, felt really depressed wanted to do something to try and bring up my confidence and stuff, thought I always wanted to learn a guitar so why not do that, I read up online and I heard about Rocksmith, being a gamer I kind of jumped on that, Bought rocksmith and a beginner Best Choice electronics electric guitar kit, I have been doing this since November 25th, just an hour a day, I thought I was doing alright even though the game kept registering all the notes on the E and A strings as one fret off. yesterday those two strings snapped, bought a set of Earnie Ball Regular Slinky and decided to replace all the strings, they sound so much better and the frets register correctly now, that being said with these new wires I'm now noticing how incredibly awful I am lol. I keep muting any string I have to press down with my fourth finger no matter how or where I press down. figured the finger is just too soft and not practiced enough.
tl;dr Sorry for the blog post is it alright to just keep going through Rocksmith tutorials and stuff for now or should I pick up other stuff as well? |
| >> | No.52735860 >>52735541 no prob dawg >>52735553 well jeez man Laney's are cool and yours doesnt sound too bad from the videos i found, though apperently they brake down semi often so watch out, it seems to cover some tonal range and get at least get into ac/dc mode pretty well, so i'd say you're best bet is to get like a EHX Od glove (bout 60) and keep the amp at like a midway in the gain so that way you could boost it with the glove, or rolll back the volume knob on your guitar to clean up a tad bit, theres also the fulltone OCD (bout a hunnit) which works pretty good, but thats more like tubesreamer kinda thing and it wont get "muffy" like the glove can, fulltone also makes this pedal called the fulldrive which is like a two in one pedal the newer red one has both a boost and an od, which is cool cause then you can use the boost the hit the front of the amp a bit harder to get more clear drivey tons, and then the od to get the over the top full saturation stuff so yea, cheapest is prolly the OD glove |
