Alright mew, tell me more about proto-punk.
>>52507581
>>52507592I'm pretty sure someone will come up with WL/WH, as usual
The Monks are good. They had one album called Black Monk Time in about '65 and it were class.https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5eOuPeAfOeE
>>52507581why? none of it comes anywhere close to this album
>>52508116Most of it's better than that album Like Rocket From The Tombs - The Day The Earth Met The Rocket From The Tombs, Simply Saucer - Cyborgs Revisited, Destroy All Monsters - Bored, Patti Smith - Radio Ethiopia, The Electric Eels - The Eyeball of Hell, Los Saicos - Wild Teen-Punk From Peru 1965 are all better than that album even raw power is better than Fun House
>>52508562I'd check a few of those albums if I could actually read your post
>>52508586wow burnyou got me there guy
>>52508590Seriously why did you list them with commas instead of just putting a space
>>52508600I put a space and a comma
>>52508562How is Raw Power better than Fun House in your eyes. It was the start of iggy pop ruined the band with that one and they literally broke up because of it
>>52508093I love that album, except for the last 2 songs which aren't that good
>>52508632Raw Power took more influence from mid 60's garage rock which I think makes better proto punk I don't care that it ruined the band because that doesn't make it a better or worse album
>>52508698I guess their songs did take on more structure with that album, and punk was very structured. maybe you're right
>>52508757It doesn't matter what's better really I'm just saying that's there's much more to Proto Punk than the Stooges If you go back to a lot of Rock and Roll and Garage Rock and some Psych Rock you'll also see a lot of albums and songs that would pass for Proto Punk (Chuck Berry, Chants R&B, Le Stelle di Mario Schifano, The Moving Sidewalks, maybe Screamin jay Hawkings) so there's a lot more to Proto Punk than that's listed on rym
>>52508093First track from the album is great!
>>52508910If you consider punk a subset of rock music, then yes all the creators of rock can be considered proto-punk but that isn't very constructive now is it?
>>52508978That's not what I mean, It would be hard to say European Son isn't Proto Punk because it contains all elements of Proto Punk just like some Garage Rock songs, Rock and Roll songs do Genre's are created because there's a new movement of music influenced by older genre's but that doesn't mean that genre has existed (be it not largely) for a while in songs on a album that happens to be labeled as experimental rock or Garage Rock
>>52507581EAT THIS! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yoY-VCxhWQ8
best proto-punk album coming through
proto-punk is a really lame tag.
>>52509070no one wants to hear your diatribes of "THIS band sounds like THAT bad, but THAT band sounds like THIS band" quit masquerading as an informed person and just post some good albums. also learn english more better good to be understood for a good deal more.
>crtl + f>not foundI hate you.
>>52507581I love the dictators.
>>52512160Great band.
>>52508562Rocket From The Tombs - The Day The Earth Met The Rocket From The Tombs Simply Saucer - Cyborgs RevisitedDestroy All Monsters - BoredPatti Smith - Radio EthiopiaThe Electric Eels - The Eyeball of HellLos Saicos - Wild Teen-Punk From Peru 1965 for anyone else that was interested but didn't both reading it

>>52512129>>52508562>>52512134I can't believe I forgot about that >>52512160What do you think of Manifest Destiny?
>>52508093I think it was a later Monks album Johnny Rotten shat all over when he was on Jukebox Jury.
