Personal favorite is St. Vincent but I don't know if I'd call her the greatest. Bjork seems like a pretty good choice. Can't think of very many others I'd be comfortable calling better (not necessarily just enjoyable to me). Haven't listened to Joanna Newsom though, who always gets praise around here.Someone above mentioned Carole King. I haven't listened to her too much but I've enjoyed what I've heard.
