ITT: 2000's scene-core albums that were actually decent
>>52445715
>>52446265>that terrible album cover>that amateur photoshopping
>>52445715i liked the first one better
>>52446630HOLY FUCK! I saw these guys live way back when and but couldn't remember the name of these guys.
>>52445715It all sucked
If you disagree, you're lying>>52446869"Walls" is a great song.
Not sure if considered scene-core
>>52447029nope sorry
Hahaha is this a real thread?
>>52446827I think they were pretty underrated in the scene. I still like them even though I listen to completely different music now.
1st From First to Last and 1st Taking Back Sunday
Underrated
Bleed and Blister is the best song ever
>>52445715>>52446265>>52446987>>52447152these fucking covers
Silverstein covered Orchid so theyre cool even though i never listened to them and will never listen to them
2000s scenecore is fantastic and you can quote me on that. I miss it terribly.
>>52445715Hahahaaaaa I found this CD the other day when i was cleaning. According to my iTunes library at the time, Smile In Your Sleep was my most played song overall. Probably my favorite band in late middle school and early high school, I wore a Silverstein shirt every Friday in 8th grade... Aside from Silverstein, Hawthorne Heights and Bayside were the only Victory Records bands I even gave the time of day. Bayside isn't really scene-core though.>>52446265My friend is the lead singer's cousin. Alesana is pretty forgettable.>>52446934Probably the best "scene-core" album.
>>52447418>Hahahaaaaa I found this CD the other day when i was cleaning. According to my iTunes library at the time, Smile In Your Sleep was my most played song overall. Bayside isn't really scene-core though.holy fuck i'm pretty sure you're me anon. this describes me pretty well. i too had a silverstein shirt in 8th grade. and i really enjoyed hawthorne heights for a while as well.
>>52447405that fucking ep man, next level
>>52446987It's bad though, the debut is good.
All of you guys are fags. Not in 4chan terms; like actual faggots. Anyone who listens to this kind of music enjoys sucking cock.
>>52447405There will never be music as good again
>>52447467Problem nigga? I'll suck your cock
>>52446816>>52446869>>52447405Oh man, these take me back.
>>52447467idk man, you still use fag to insult people in 2014 so its hard to take your word
>>52447482Thats because the gay emo/scene kids moved on to rave music
>>52447452>>52447482>tfwThey Perched On Their Stilts will probably always be my viscerally favourite song.>>52447505Also a top albumTempted to download their newest stuff, but I'm scared I won't find it as good as this due to lack of having listened to it as a teenager.
>>52447505Hell yeah. The only thing more feminine than a woman is a Sense Fail fan.
>>52447514What does 2014 have to do it? A faggots still a faggot, just like the music you listen to you fucking queer.
>>52447615idk man, you still use fag to insult people in 2014 so its hard to take your word
>>52447558They Perched On Their Stilts is incredibleThis is probably my fave Saosin song despite it not being included on an official releasehttps://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hqUs5oOWDCc
God tier
>>52446934Every single one of their albums is flawless, sans ITUE.
>>52447587Holy shit someone else listened to this album?
>>52445715OP, I was literally just re-listening to Silverstein the other day, that is such a good album. Shits all over half the twinkly "emo-revival" albums we get nowadays.
>>52447662fuck yes holy shit
>>52447662I'm actually impressed that these guys managed to sneak so much weirdness into their scenecoreOn that note, The Sound of Animals Fighting was a perfect band to transition from scene post-hardcore into progressive and experimental rock, first "weird" music I ever got into. Gotta thank these guys for being a gateway and putting out 3 genuinely good albums.
>>52447627What does 2014 have to do it? A faggots still a faggot, just like the music you listen to you fucking queer.
>>52447587>>52447707All three of us did.
>>52447731>be me>owning this on vinylActually just finished listening to it.Love it.
The Fall of Troy is the only bearable band of this type.
here, have a bunch of Thursdayhttps://mega.co.nz/#fm/f1pVSA4L
early 2000s post-hardcore is good
>>52447747>faggot>fucking queerOh boy here we go
>>52445715I'm fucking confused, isn't this a buttrock band? There are like a million "silver____" bands
>>52447628I somehow haven't heard this before. Thank, anon.I sort of have to wonder if they have a handful of unreleased early demos that haven't been leaked.
>>52447961My (extremely) Jewish doctor's last name is Silerstein. I'll never be able to take this band seriously
>>52447843>tfw from NC>tfw one/some of them went to high school with my sisters>tfw they played at the skatepark
>>52447961It's a tribute to Shel Silverstein ya dingus.
>>52445715i used to love this album but i now realize it is shit
>>52446816great
>>52447781ALL THIS TIME ALOONNEEEE
>>52448078no no no, YOU are shit
>>52447961SilversteinSilver JewsSilverchairSilver... eh....?
>>52446934this album is so nostalgic for me. i remember asking for this for christmas and listening to it nonstop until i knew every single song. made me a badass bass player too
>>52447418bayside is still my #1 favorite band of all time, even though they havent put out anything good since the walking wounded
>>52448097AND I CANNOT GO HOMEEE
>>52446987I'M NOT OKAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAYYOU WEAR ME OUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUT
>>52448103no but honestly "Heroine" makes me cringe just thinking about it
>>52448177Silverstein have actually held up better than most other scenecore bands. This, on the other hand just makes me cringe when thinking about it nowadays
>a whole thread dedicated to discussing mediocre and boring albumswow, thanks for reminding me how much the 2000s sucked
It holds up; this was my favorite album years ago.Time fucking flies
>>52448227Go back to your Death Grips, sperglord
>>52448261I don't like Death Grips.
>>52448142I think I saw them three or four times somewhere in the vein of The Walking Wounded and Shudder. The Walking Wounded is one of the last CDs I remember buying. Shudder was tolerable, but TWW was a game changer for me. Killing time is about when I stopped caring about keeping up with them. The album art for Cult alone makes me not want to listen to it.I actually won a contest to see them perform a private acoustic set at a local radio station. Ended up giving the tickets to my sister because I was a dumb faggot and decided to go to school instead.
>>52448259I hope this message finds you well :^)
>>52448259not as good as the debut
>>52448227you're not allowed to have an opinion
>>52448313>Niki FM was my ringtone>IIIIIIII KNOOOOOOOOOW
>>52448177The cover of Rodeo Clown is cool.
>>52448312>>52448313yesss
This shit right here.

>>52448177speaking of heroine
>>52448362Fuck.
>>52448259>>52448313one of my friends went to one of their recent tours where they played the entirety of one albumhe bought a record of it and got it signed
>>52448381This, along with Art of Drowning, Black Sails in the Sunset and Shut Your Mouth and Open Your Eyes.
>>52448377Eric...
>>52448323Of course I am, and I genuinely feel like the 2000s were the worst decade for music.
>>52448379>jhazmyne's lullably (the track)
>>52448379never heard of these guys, thanks mane
>>52448289bruhhhh i would not pass that up. anthony raneri is an amazing song writer, honestly the only reason theyre still relevant to me. i saw him acoustic like 2 years ago at warped tour, bretty good. fuck i love old bayside so much
>>52448377i really like this album tho.>skrillex
This thread made me feel good :')
>>52448513fuck. >6th grade>being different
>>52448491remember his post-fftl, pre-skrillex solo songs?
>>52448513fuck how could I forget SKSK?
>>52447206>>52447405amen.>>52447505oh that pirate song on this album was fucking awesome.
Anyone else legit miss scenecore?I feel like the emo/scene era of the mid-00's was the last point in time when there was truly a sense of tribalism in music. Nowadays, we have all this bullshit poptimism and Pitchfork forcing both Beyonce and Kanye down our throats. There's none of the danger anymore that you got from admitting to listening to this stuff. Shit, I knew kids who got the crap kicked out of them for liking most of the albums in this thread.Idk, maybe I'm getting old but it still kinda sucks :/
>>52448606>Anyone else legit miss scenecore?I definitely do, but at the same time I know that it probably boils down to missing feeling young and actually caring about myself. A lot of scenecore music kind of represents a dignified defiance and a self of self worth, even if you really hate yrself. Now I just feel like a fuckup but without any of the passion that I felt at fifteen.
2007 was the best year for this type of music.I'll just give you a list of bands/albums:Armor For Sleep - Dream to Make BelieveChiodos - All's Well That Ends WellName Taken - Hold OnOur Last Night - The Ghost Among UsSaosin - SaosinScary Kids Scaring Kids - The City Sleeps in FlamesSilverstein - Discovering the WaterfrontUnderoath - They're Only Chasing SafetyAlso, these aren't really considered post-hardcore, but definitely worth checking out:Taking Back Sunday - Louder NowEnvy on the Coast - Lucy GrayCirca Survive - Juturna
>>52448676>>52445715
>>52448701No nigga
>>52445715>>52445715Daily reminder that Scaruffi gave a Silverstein album a 6.5, officially making it on par with Kid A and Dark Side of The Moon
>>52448701The best album posted on here.
>>52448676damn, didn't realize that all these seminal scenecore releases came out a whole year after Brand New had already mastered their new sound on Devil and God. Puts things in perspectivealso, just can't bring myself to listen to post-Anthony Saosin even if it's probably decent
>>52448701
>>52448729No, I didn't mean that they all came out in 2007. Sorry, I see how you could've thought that. I just meant, in general, 2007 had a lot of good releases.
Were KSE ever considered scenecore? I was never a scene kid but I remember alot of them being into them, Beats me, but this album and End of Heartache man
>>52448729lol, considering D&G is a Midwestern Emo album it doesnt put anything in perspective
>>52448729D&G is just boring soft rock
>>52448216Emily still gives me so many goddamn feels.
>>52448606I don't really miss it at all, you're probably just looking back at it with rose-tinted goggles
>>52448606I'm with ya, man. These bands wrote and played music with so much passion, screaming until their vocal chords tore, swinging the bass around, getting their scene-hair all sweaty. It was bad ass.
>>52448769Nahh, Killswitch were always more popular with metalheads than scene kids from what I remember. Them, Atreyu and A7X were probably bigger with those guys than emo kids. They still rule though.>>52448729>tfw you actually prefer Your Favorite Weapon & Deja Entendu era Brand New to D&G.
>>52448811>>52448606https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=B_Phh7vd5vE
>>52448676>Juturna was released in 2007>Saosin was released in 2007>SKSK was relevant in 2007>you can't really even remember 2007 anymore>you will never again unironically hope all the assholes you know leave you alone as you travel late to gym class in 2007 >you will never again fight with your girlfriend between classes and talk shit about her with the girl who really liked you during history who you weren't romantically attracted to, but loved as a friend>you will never again spend your teens in involuntary psychiatric care >2007 was 22 years agoThis thread makes me want to drink, but then I remember that in 2007 I could get blackout drunk on a quarter of what it takes now and then I just want to drink more. Feeling hard right now.https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IOB7L8Kpccc
>>52448811Yeah. Bands nowadays aren't any fun. They all act like everything is serious art, and forget to sound enjoyable. Makes me think of thishttp://www.stuffyouwillhate.com/2014/03/who-are-the-kings-of-tumblrcore/
>>52448847If we're talking 2007, you guys had better not forget the GOAThttps://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pQmpjFmB9yg&hd=1
>>52448877Oh shit, that was 2009. Fuck it, might as well count.
>>52448877ADTR sucks so fucking hard
>>52448877that's gay bro
A-anyone?
>>52448898Wasn't there pasta about the lead singer fucking a male anon in a hotel room?
>>52448877>you guys had better not forget the GOATI try to forget everything about 2004-2014https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FfjH0gOuby4
>>52448877>>52448898>>52448922ok thread officially derailed way to go
None, I don't listen to whiny boy white people music.
>>52448943>>52448938It was good while it lasted
>>52448938https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MVL4C6EVWOw
>>52448877ADTR a shit>>52448898Embarassing look but some listenable songs>>52448922It's cool to hate them but I believe most of those who do have never listened to a single song by them
>>52449035>It's cool to hate them but I believe most of those who do have never listened to a single song by themI would but I just can't help but nope out in the first 10 seconds
>>52449035You a shit
>>52449035have you listened to them? their music is awful and the singer is a pedophile
>>52449199yes I have listened to All The Rage, Let's Start A Riot and whatever their last album was called (and maybe other stuff, idk).yes I know the stories about Dahvie.Let's clarify I don't like them at all, but I'm sure lot of people hate them just because the internet told them to.>>52449180Honestly never liked ADTR. Common Courtesy was one of the worst "post-hardcore" albums that came out recently. I'd rather listen to Of Mice & Men or Memphis May Fire
>>52449285Fair enough. Their new stuff is garbage, but I stick by Homesick being good. They were the one band that found the sweet spot between metalcore and pop punk
>>52449344https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lGpMTtpn2Qsimagine ur neighbors doing this and waking u up
>>52449396I was talking about A Day To Remember. BOTDF are absolute garbage, always hated them.
Still love this album.
>>52446987just wanted to share in case you don't go to emo threads
