So what does /mu/ think about Boston?

>> No.52226450

Jason Scheff came to my house one time.

Favorite classic rock band, that is up until Delp left.

>gives us Pixies
>gives us Cul de Sac
pretty based city for music

>> No.52226491

They're not terrible I guess but good god if they aren't every late 70's-early 80's dad's favorite band. I personally think they're very overrated, and are about on par with Journey when it comes to making music.

If you don't sing along to More Than A Feeling, you are a liar and a fool.

I guess you're right about the dad band thing but I think they're far better than Journey. To each his own.

Oh wait, that's Chicago.

i sniffed glue to foreplay/long time and it was pretty fucking intense

They are far better than Journey, but I really don't like much more than their first album, and most of their popular radio songs are boring too me. I love prog, but Boston is kinda the entry to that era of cheesy music.

I really like this album, everything else they've ever done was absolute shit though.

Yeah that's true. There's not one bad song on the first album though. It's one of my favorites.

That's weird, not that guy but I've always put Boston and Journey on the same level too for some reason. I specifically group those two bands together in my head as "bad 80's rock", but I still enjoy or have enjoyed both at one time. In fact, I think I'll listen to Boston right now.

>> No.52227228

I can listen to Peace Of Mind anytime. Literally, like anytime.

>> No.52227398

My dad used to play this album in the car when he dropped me off at elementary school. It probably played a huge part in getting me to stop listening exclusively to Linkin Park. I still love it too, their second album's got some great songs on it but Tom Scholz's insane perfectionism brings a certain cheesy lifelessness to their music that just ruins all of their later material. It's a shame because Delp is like the perfect late '70s arena rock singer.

I kind of wish I knew all the sociocultural bullshit that was going on back then; I'd probably appreciate them better.
