I'll start
it's a goatse
Best*
>>52054104but WHY?Every argument I've heard for this album has been how he was "showing emotion via robotic autotune"
I actually thought that was his best.
>>52054042Wrong
>>52054042I think you meant to post Yeezus OP
>>52054128this album has a lot more raw emotional connection than his other albums do, it's quite a bit more personal and darker material than his albums up until that point.coldest winter is a really great example of all the things that this album did right.also, the music video for streetlights might be my favorite music video of all time.
>>52054128it's his best album lyrically, it's an incredibly touching and personally revealing album coming from someone who is known mainly for his huge ego. his girl leaves him, his mother passes away, and he's broken down to his lowest point and makes someone of his most stripped back work with his voice shining through (which is just incredible in itself, considering how many artists and bands mask their pain with noise and loudness)
>>52054333>>52054266The autotune is what doesn't do it for me. Maybe it's just my personal taste, but I've always had the feeling that if you couldn't sing, don't. Using autotune as a crutch is one of those things I can't deal with. It sounded like he was using the autotune as a crutch and that's where it doesn't work for me.
>>52054266Link to the music video. So many types on youtube
Tied with De Stijl, both are still solid 7s though
>>52054399Ew.
>>52054377http://www.dailymotion.com/video/x9pt0f_kanye-west-street-lights-new_music>>52054369i generally feel the same way, but i feel like that is kind of the mood that he's going for on the album - he's lost his own human emotions, he's just an empty shell of a man trying to find any medium he can to connect with someone after experiencing such loneliness
>>52054399>Icky Thump = De Stijl
>>52054440>i generally feel the same way,So at least you know how I feel about it in general>but i feel like that is kind of the mood that he's going for on the albumI kinda get that, but after listening to the album a bunch of times, it still hasn't clicked. It feels more like general loss of emotion sorta lets the album drag along longer than it needs to
>>52054042>808s>not mbdtfMotherfucker do you even listen to Kanye?
>>52054542>mbdtf>not even YeezusI do, but clearly you don't
>>52054489it used to be my least favorite of his albums, but after listening to it during a similarly dark period of my life, and also hearing him perform some of those songs live, i felt a much deeper connection with it than i ever had beforethe way he was doing coldest winter on the yeezus tour was really moving for me
king of limbs
>>52054042It's Yeezus
>>52054556Yeezus was the best album of 2014 even though it came out last year, fucking grandpa.
>>52054572I listened to it during the summer (which was my dark period) and I still wasn't feeling it. I gravitated more towards the emotional exhaustion of Aeroplane more than anything. I didn't really care much for Aeroplane until that dark point in my life came around.
>>52054593>not Pablo Honey
>>52054670man there are very few experiences in my life that have compared to the raw emotionality of listening to Two-Headed Boy Pt. 2 for the first time
>>52054743I'm gonna lie, I fucking cried like a bitch when I first heard the song, and then when I really sat and listened to the lyrics. That song still fucking gets to me...
>>52054743>>52054798so much feeling bros, i listened to it drunk and it properly hit me for the first time and i felt like i had some sort of godly experience
>>52054899when i was 18, i made plans to get a tattoo that said "when we break, we'll wait for our miracle," and i decided against it thinking that i would regret it later, but that was 4 years ago and i still want it just as much now as i did then.
>>52054935I think you know what you need to do then
